Thiosulfate grades built on one oxyanion.

ATS=™, Thio 25-17™ and MTS=™ differ in the cation and share the thiosulfate their labels are built on. This page lists what each plant makes and where a Raman spectrum reads it.

01The grades

Each figure on the label has a source in the liquor.

ATS=™ · ammonium thiosulfate
12-0-0-26S

The sulfur figure follows the thiosulfate content; the nitrogen figure is set by the ammonium balance of the same salt.

Thio 25-17™ · potassium thiosulfate
0-0-25-17S

25% soluble K₂O and 17% sulfur, chloride-free, 12.2 lb/gal and SG 1.46 per Hydrite's flyer.

MTS · magnesium thiosulfate
MgS₂O₃

The same oxyanion with magnesium as the cation, made by Sacramento Ag Products; the model is trained on the MTS liquor itself.

The probe reads the thiosulfate and sulfate side of the liquor. Ammonium, potassium and magnesium have no usable Raman band of their own in water, so nitrogen, K₂O and magnesium stay on your lab method.

03Why Raman reads this chemistry

A clear aqueous liquor gives a clean spectrum.

≈

Oxyanions with their own bands

Thiosulfate and sulfate are Raman-active. Sulfate's band at 976 cm⁻¹ sits close to the thiosulfate bands, and the feasibility study sets how finely the model separates them.

○

Water stays quiet

Water is a weak Raman scatterer. In an aqueous liquor it leaves the analyte bands readable, where infrared methods contend with strong water absorption.

One model per liquor

Spectrally OS runs one calibrated model per parameter and liquor, a hybrid of neural networks and classical chemometrics checked against your titration.

04The bisulfite side

The second sulfur chemistry in the portfolio, scoped liquor by liquor.

Ammonium bisulfite at 60% and 70%, sodium bisulfite at 38% and 40%, magnesium bisulfite and food-grade potassium bisulfite at 30% are part of the Hydrite portfolio. Each is a separate matrix, and the feasibility study sets which of them a model covers first.

Common practice
With the probe in the line
A titration per sampling round, typically 20 to 30 minutes per result
✓A thiosulfate reading about every 5 seconds, in the control system
Tank uniformity inferred from where the sample was drawn
✓Homogeneity read in the recirculation loop over a full turnover
Each plant with its own sampling routine
✓The same reading and record format at every plant
A concentration step confirmed by a sample once it settles
✓The step confirmed when the thiosulfate trend settles on the new target
