Halar ECTFE at Orange / What we measure
What we measure

What a spectrum of your polymer carries.

Inline means the spectrum is taken in the vessel or line itself; at-line means next to it, on a sample of the finished grade. Each value below comes from its own model, calibrated in the feasibility study against your lab methods.

01Spectrum explorer

Five values from one spectrum.

Select a parameter to see where it sits and where it is read.

Schematic spectrum · 785 nm
Raman shift → · schematic trace for orientation
02How it is usually read

The lab methods stay where they belong.

They remain the reference for the model and the tests for the melt and the part.

per lot
Melt-flow index
Stays in the lab: melt viscosity is a chain-length property.
per lot
Mechanical tests
Stay in the lab: they describe the part.
typ. 30–60 min
GC for residual monomer on a pulled sample
Stays as the reference for the monomer model.
per round
Manual sample draw
Taken when the lab schedules it, and less often in routine operation.
03From spectrum to tag

Four steps between the process and your screen.

Source
One Raman spectrum

785 nm excitation, or 1064 nm for fluorescing media; 300–1650 or 300–3500 cm⁻¹ at 8 cm⁻¹.

Acquisition
From 5 s

Configurable from 5 to 300 s per spectrum, set for each point.

Model
One per parameter

A hybrid of neural networks and classical chemometrics, trained on your grades.

Delivery
Modbus tags

Values into the PLC, DCS or SCADA; spectra and results stored locally as CSV, PDF or raw data.
