Gekko Photonics received the title of Company of the Year and USD 1 million in investment at the finale of Luminate NY 2026 in Rochester. The funds will go toward developing the team in the USA.
Thermoplastic composites, biopolymers, Deep-UV Raman in sorting, and deep learning-based chemometrics — four directions that will transfer polymer measurements from the laboratory to the process in 2026.
Review 2026: 1D-CNN, Transformers, Diffusion Augmentation, and LoRA-CT in Raman Spectroscopy — What Works in Process Chemistry and What Does Not.
At Gekko Photonics, we view photonics as the measurement layer of the digital plant. Three development fronts for 2026: AI/CNN in chemometrics, digital twin + PAT, DCS/MES communication standards.
Flexible plasmonic substrates, integration of SERS with deep learning, first implementations in therapeutic drug monitoring. What the publications from the 2025/2026 turn brought, and how to think about the adaptation of SERS in pharmacy.
The new UWWTD Directive (2024/3019) and IED 2.0 (2024/1785) are changing the requirements for industrial wastewater monitoring — quaternary treatment, EPR, and mandatory EMS. We demonstrate where Raman spectroscopy is relevant in process streams prior to discharge.
Dr. inż. Karolina Orłowska, CSO of Gekko Photonics, delivered a lecture titled „The language of light, the logic of industry. Raman spectroscopy for real-time industrial process control" on May 21, 2026, in Charlotte, NC, upon the invitation of the organizers of the CLEO 2026 conference.
Optica has selected 10 optics and photonics entrepreneurs to watch in 2025. Among them is Karolina Orłowska — CSO and co-founder of Gekko Photonics.
Raman spectroscopy enters the hydrogen value chain through three pathways: operando R&D on electrodes, H₂ purity control, and electrolyte monitoring. What works today, what are the limitations, and where a design start makes sense.
Overview of spectroscopic techniques in polymer sorting plants 2026: deep-UV Raman for black plastics, Raman with ML for WEEE, GANs for spectral augmentation, MWIR-HSI.
