Analyzer, probe and software, from the catalog.

Values from the Spectrally Raman Analyzers catalog. Inline means the probe sits in the process itself and reads without a sample being drawn. The configuration for each plant, wavelength, spectral range and measurement points, is set in its feasibility report.

Spectrally X1 INLINE analyzer cabinet
01 · Spectrally X1 INLINE

A process Raman analyzer for continuous service.

Spectrally X1 INLINE measures composition in the installation, continuously through the run. Two channels come as standard, enough for a reactor and a wash or recovery stream from one cabinet.

02 · Spectrally X1 PROBE

The part of the system that sits in your medium.

An immersion probe for liquids, suspensions and slurries in vessels and lines, in batch or continuous operation, with a dedicated configuration for powders and granulates. The retractable self-cleaning module keeps the window clear while the analyzer stays in service.

03Spectrally OS

From raw spectrum to a value your operators act on.

Spectrally OS turns spectra into progress, composition and solvent values, checks each spectrum against the grade specification and keeps the record on the analyzer.

Predictive modelsHybrid of neural networks (CNN) and classical chemometrics (PLS, PCA)
Spectral databaseProprietary and public, approx. 28,000 spectra
Operator interfaceSpectrallyUI, touchscreen
Data exportCSV / PDF / RAW
User managementRole-based access control (RBAC)
Data storageLocal database; measurement and logging continue without network
Industrial protocolModbus to PLC, DCS, MES, SCADA or LIMS

A logged model lifecycle

Calibration, validation and maintenance: models start in the feasibility study, are retrained on your production data and re-calibrated when a recipe changes. Every change is logged.

⇄

One software layer, lab to line

Models move between Spectrally X1 LAB, X1 PORTABLE and X1 INLINE, so the model built during feasibility is the starting point for the line model, which is then retrained on your production data.

04Raman next to the methods you know

The differences are physical.

Four points that matter for polymer production, and two that stay with the lab.

Common method
Inline Raman · Spectrally X1 INLINE
GC for residual monomer: typically 30–60 min per pulled sample
✓Reaction progress followed where the probe sits, a reading about every 5 s
Infrared: water and polar solvents absorb strongly
✓Water is a weak Raman scatterer; solvent and polymer bands stand out
NIR: broad, overlapping bands
✓Narrow, bond-specific bands a model can assign
A result per sample, carried to the lab
✓Continuous values in the control system, no reagents in routine operation
Stays with the lab
chain length

The molecular-weight distribution is a chain-length property, and GPC/SEC remains the method that measures it.

Stays with the lab
part properties

Melt-flow, mechanical and thermal tests describe the melt and the part, and stay on your lab methods.

GC, GPC/SEC and your polymer tests remain the analytical reference methods. The accuracy for each process comes from a feasibility study on that plant's samples.
