02 The gap you know too well

The stream does not wait for the lab.

Iodometric thiosulfate titration answers in 20 to 30 minutes; full anion analysis by ion chromatography takes 30 to 60; densitometry is only a concentration proxy and never sees composition. The absorption process runs continuously, so by the time the result is back the stream has moved on.
