How it works

Service the probe without depressurizing the line.

A full-port ball valve and a retraction chamber let the optical window be cleaned while the pipeline stays under pressure. Eight steps, from insertion to re-insertion.

1. Insertion
Valve open — probe lowered through the full-port opening into the pipeline.

Full-port ball valve

Rotated 90 degrees it isolates the process, so the gland can be opened with the line still under pressure.

Retraction chamber

Holds the probe above the closed valve, with internal seals around the shaft.

Gland

Tightened around the probe at measuring depth to seal against process pressure, loosened before the probe moves.

Window cleaning

The probe comes out through the gland for manual cleaning, which often coincides with a between-batch line purge.
