02 The gap you know too well

The reaction does not wait for the lab.

Acid value by ISO 3682 titration, residual monomer by GC and molecular weight by GPC come back 30 to 120 minutes later - and the acid-value titration means stopping the reactor and pulling a sample from a medium above 220 C. By then the reaction has already moved on.

Stop the reactor, pull a sample from above 220 C, run an ISO 3682 acid-value titration, a GC for residual monomer or a GPC for molecular weight, then wait. Every overshoot becomes a solvent correction or an off-spec batch - and the variance often surfaces only after the resin has shipped.

An immersion probe reads the reactor continuously and streams acid value, viscosity and monomer conversion to your control system. The endpoint is caught while you can still act on it - so titration, GC and GPC become verification, not the bottleneck.
