Refractometry answers in 2 to 3 minutes but reads only total dissolved solids - it cannot separate urea from ammonium nitrate and never sees biuret. The methods that can are slow: Kjeldahl total nitrogen takes 60 to 90 minutes, biuret by GC 40 to 60. By then the blend or the batch has moved on.
